I know this for a fact - and most dog owners will concur - dogs get jealous; but here is a study about the subject:
"Experiments with various species have shown that monkeys often express resentful behavior when a partner receives a greater reward for performing an identical task."

It seems to me that this study is more meaningful since it shows that animals have a an innate understanding of fairness and equality. Basically they know when they're being cheated and don't like it!
